The AIAF was deeply saddened to learn of the passing yesterday of José Juan Pintó Sala, known as Jota to those who knew him.
José Juan was one of the pioneers of sports law, and of football law in particular. Beyond his remarkable professional contribution, he will be remembered as a man of great kindness, consideration and elegance.
He joined the AIAF as a member last year, after having participated in most AIAF Congresses and followed the Association’s work with constant attention and genuine interest. His longstanding connection with the AIAF reflected his commitment to the development of sports law and to the community built around it.
This loss is made even more poignant by the fact that it comes only a short time after the passing of his wife, María del Mar Martín.
On behalf of the AIAF, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, his friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
His memory will remain with us.
